The Team is located within the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, and supports all Queenslanders who accept an offer of Counselling and psychological care from the National Redress Scheme.

Why does my counsellor have to be registered with Redress Counselling or the Trauma Support Directory?

The directory has a range of practitioners who can help you, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers, counsellors, psychologists, social workers, mental health nurses, and occupational therapists.

If you are already seeing a counsellor, they can choose to register on the directory or register directly with the Redress Counselling Program.

People who receive redress have the choice of who can best meet their counselling and psychological support needs. You are encouraged to discuss your needs with a counsellor, do your own research to determine which counsellor may be best for you, or seek support to help you decide.
